Let’s Run the Numbers
Let’s just say you get 1000 leads per year, of which 20 percent become prospects, of which 20 percent become clients of which 20 percent become repeat clients of which 20 percent refer other clients and let’s just say the average client is worth $1000 to you.
So in other words let’s say you get 1000 leads, 200 people become prospects, out of 200 prospects, 40 people become clients, out of 40 clients 8 people become repeat clients and out of 8 repeat clients 1.6 people refer someone else. Which means that you make $40,000 from clients, $8000 from repeat clients and $1600 from referrals for a grand total of $49,600.
1000 Leads x 20% = 200 Prospects
200 Prospects x 20% = 40 Clients
40 Clients x 20% = 8 Repeat Clients
8 Repeat Clients x 20% = 1.6 Referrals
Total is 49.6 Clients at an average invoice of $1000 = $49,600*
Now watch this. Let’s say you apply the strategies in my “Law Firm Marketing in a Box” program learn how to increase each of these areas just 10% (so all the 20% go to 22%). Let’s start from the top. Now instead of 1000 leads a year you get 1100 leads a year, out of those 1100 leads 22% become prospects so that means 242 become prospects. Out of that 22% become clients so that’s 53 clients of which 22% become repeat clients so that’s almost 12 repeat clients out of which 22% refer someone else which gives you about 2.5 referral clients.
1100 Leads x 22% = 242 Prospects
242 Prospects x 22% = 53 Clients
53 Clients x 22% = 12 Repeat Clients
12 Repeat Clients x 22% = 2.5 Referrals
Total is 67.5 Clients at an average invoice of $1000 = $67,500*
Remember, you made $49,600 before. Now you have 53 clients, 12 repeat clients and 2.5 referral clients.
That’s $67,500 per year or a 36% increase in income from just tiny changes in each area.
Now feel free to run the numbers but let’s just say a 20 or 30% increases in each area is very realistic which the strategies I’m going to show you. The numbers are mind-boggling.
In fact, if instead of a 10% increase in each area you achieve a 20% increase in each area, which by the way is easily doable, you end up making $90,000 a year as opposed to $49,600 (or an 81% increase in income).
*Keep in mind that we haven’t even considered the number of prospects and one-time clients that send referral business and/or what happens when we increase the average dollar amount per client.
